Event Formats

Here are the competition categories at the Megha Kayak Festival

Downriver Time Trial

Each kayaker will get 2 qualification attempts at the downriver course, which will be followed by a final. The course is 300-350 meter long class IV section and each competitor is required to negotiate the section in the fastest time possible.

Extreme Slalom

Extreme Slalom is a race where four kayakers try to be fastest to reach the finish line downriver. There will be both upstream and downstream gates that the kayakers will mandatorily need to negotiate before making it to the finish line. This is an ICF approved discipline and will be carried out as per the ICF rules and regulations.

Downriver Freestyle

This is a fun event and competing kayakers will be allowed to perform any downriver river freestyle trick within an allotted time limit. This race is purely for demonstration purposes and will not be eligible for prize money.
